February 2nd-5th

With the ice and snow of last week cutting short our school week, I was eager for my class to return to their desks, books and knitting needles. Our Handicraft, knitting, has been a fun project for the girls as they are making washcloths that will be combined with soaps and lotions to give as gifts at the local women's shelter. So far, the girls have done a beautiful job knitting their washcloths! In addition to knitting, we will spend this week continuing our study of Jamestown. In Bible, it is time to begin our Valentine's movie, "One Night With the King" which is the Old Testament story of Queen Esther. The movie will help the class better understand the Jewish life that Paul writes of in Romans. Along with Bible class, the girls continue to have great success in their Latin studies getting nearly perfect scores on all their quizzes. In English, the girls continue to assimilate their vocabulary from their Wordly Wise studies into their everyday language. It is so wonderful to listen to my students use their new words with success and confidence! Don't forget our Open House this Saturday! May God be with you this week, Mrs. Roy
