November 10-13

Because next week will be our Thanksgiving celebration at school, the girls and I are going to spend the next few days learning about the history of this great holiday! The entire Upper School will gather together to enjoy a feast of such foods as boiled onions and play games similar to those of our ancestors of 1621. It will be a great day together... Last week, we finished our study of Cortes and the corresponding mapwork. In our field study of North American birds, the girls completed a picture study of a beautiful bluejay feather that was found by one of my students. Along with drawing and adding color to the feather, they each wrote down the region that this bird inhabits. In Literature, Crusoe is now sailing away from his island and leading us on many new adventures! The class is doing a wonderful job of narrating back the important details of his journey. We also had our second debate on Monday afternoon. The topic being dating vs. courtship. The class, as a whole, did well in the debate! Mrs. Roy
