October 20-23

What a wonderful week! The girls began their picture study of Durer's Hare and Tuft of Grass. Like any great artist, we began the study with practicing lines and introduced the art of tone. This is especially important because the Venetian artists introduced the beauty of light into their paintings using oils. In Bible class, the girls finished their study of Paul's Plan and Theme and then finished the week with a great game of Bible Gestures! It continues to be difficult for us to put down Robinson Crusoe as Defoe keeps us a very captive audience. As a class, we discussed Crusoe's repentence towards God as we see him realize through a dream and a time of sickness that he has been sinful in his pride. As always, on Thursdays, the girls act out scenes from our weekly readings. Flint had a great Fall Fest on Saturday! It was a blessing to see my students and their families come out for such a splendid time. The dunking booth was a hit! This week, we will be carving pumpkins and enjoying a Fall Party! Mrs. Roy
