October 13-16

It was a short week however we filled it full of fun and learning! I thought this would be a great time to study Renaissance art happening in Venice. We are beginning a picture study of Albrecht Durer this next week who was influenced by his time spent at a Venetian school of art. We studied beautiful paintings by Titian, Bellini, and others. In Bible, we began to read the Plan and Theme of Romans in chapter 1, verses 8-17. The girls also watched a music video performed by the group Building 429 called "Fearless". It is a song about two missionaries and their fearlessness in sharing their faith with others all over the world. Our week came to an end with a lunch trip to Campo Verde sponsored by our room mom followed by a bird observation at Veteran's Park. We saw bluejays and ducks. The girls sketched the ducks and then added the pictures to their nature notebooks. Enjoy the picture! Mrs. Roy
