Our school has recently adopted a hedgehog. Though there are many hedgehog species, the most common pet hedgehog is the African pygmy. It is a nocturnal creature that hunts for grubs and other insects throughout the night. They prefer to hunt alone. Each hedgehog has over 5,000 quills and can roll into a ball in order to protect itself from predators. Our little hedgehog is a female named Rosy. Come by the Science Room and visit Rosy! Mrs. Roy
