The Importance of Nature Study



As taken from Charlotte Mason's writings,
"Nature Study lays the foundation for formal science studies." (Vol. 3, p. 281)

For this reason, our school incorporates the study of nature as a part of our Charlotte Mason education. Equipped with field guides, colored pencils, binoculars and their nature journals, the students spend time outdoors observing the created wonders of our world and then writing them into their nature journals along with sketching what they have observed. The students look forward to our time outdoors each week as do I. Mrs. Roy
