Dallas World Aquarium

Downtown Dallas, amidst the hustle and bustle of city traffic, one can find a gigantic spider crab, two Antillean manatees, numerous loggerhead sea turtles and countless reptiles and amphibians. All of these animals call the Dallas World Aquarium their home. Our year's zoology studies naturally culminated in a trip to the aquarium. The students just had to see, not just read about, animals such as the rare Leafy Sea Dragon and the scary Orinoco crocodile. For some, the Green anaconda was the most fascinating. As it is the heaviest of snake species, its size alone was marvelous to behold. For others, it was pure delight and a bit of a fright to sit in the shark tunnel surrounded by mystical sawfish and massive brown sharks . Myself, I thought the anteaters were adorable. And, I've also decided that we must immediately purchase a tank big enough to hold a manatee so that it can live in our school's nature room! All of the students and one very silly science teacher thoroughly enjoyed their time at the aquarium!
